What it was about
Staff at firms had a separate password for the platform next to their Microsoft account. That meant password resets, shared accounts and access that did not stop by itself when someone left. Firms wanted to sign in the way they do everywhere else: with their Microsoft account, including the multi-factor authentication already set up there.
What we built
The solution
A sign-in integration based on OpenID Connect with Microsoft Entra ID: the platform sends the user to Microsoft, Microsoft confirms who it is, and the platform links that identity to the right account and firm.
Firms connect their own Microsoft environment (multi-tenant), so the management of users, MFA and leavers stays with the firm. Access revoked there also expires on the platform.
Existing users were linked to their Microsoft identity without interruption; the old sign-in remained available as a fallback during the transition.

Connect
The firm gives consent once for the app in its Microsoft environment.

Sign in
The employee clicks Sign in with Microsoft and signs in as with Outlook or Teams, including MFA.

Recognise
The platform links the Microsoft identity to the right account and the right permissions.

Manage
New and departed employees are managed in Entra ID; the platform follows automatically.
