Silverfin and Visionplanner integration for an accountancy portal
For an accountancy software vendor we built the integrations with which accounting and administration firms retrieve their figures and tax returns automatically from Silverfin and Visionplanner, present them in the accountancy portal and submit them to the Dutch Tax Administration. No exports, no retyping.

The question
What it was about
Firms working with the vendor's platform also had their annual figures and tax return data in Silverfin or Visionplanner. Every tax return meant exporting, checking and entering again. That costs time per client file, and every retyping step is a chance of an error in a tax return.
What we built
The solution
An integration with the Silverfin REST API and an integration with Visionplanner, both with OAuth 2.0 authorisation per firm, so a firm gives consent itself and the platform can only access its own files.
The figures, tax returns and signing dates are retrieved per file, translated to the structure of the portal and shown there clearly to firm and client. Statuses of tax returns stay equal to the source, and differences are reported instead of silently overwritten.
Error handling and logging per firm, so a failed synchronisation is traceable and the vendor can help its customers in a targeted way.
